From November 25 to 26, 2025, the series of activities for the 20th Anniversary Innovation Achievement Exhibition of Specialty Vegetables hosted by Wuhan Yafei Seed Co., Ltd. came to a successful conclusion in Wuhan. Industrial Development Forum: Gathering Wisdom to Explore New Development Paths

The Industrial Development Forum was presided over by Gao Guangjin, a national advanced worker and researcher of agricultural technology extension. The forum invited practical guests from various fields to share experience in variety breeding, marketing, risk prevention and control, and policy interpretation, providing targeted support for the high-quality development of the specialty vegetable industry.

Focusing on key industrial links, Zhao Guangwei, Director of Variety Development Department of Weikang Agriculture, took “Weikang Qingqin Celery” as an example to share how a niche variety became a market hit by meeting the health needs of young consumers and adopting scenario-based marketing, offering a replicable industrialization model. Ge Xianhong, Professor of the College of Plant Science & Technology at Huazhong Agricultural University, focused on “Isatis Root Rape Sprout” and emphasized the core value of scientific innovation, online promotion and standardized production for industrial upgrading, highlighting the trend of variety innovation in line with health consumption.In brand promotion, Liu Yapeng, Senior Lecturer at Douyin HugeAcademy, focused on new media practice and explained strategies such as short video shooting and account building to solve marketing challenges and help high-quality varieties connect with the market.

In addition, Que Xuqiang, General Manager of Yizhi Agricultural Consulting (Beijing) Co., Ltd., and industry experts were invited to interpret the standardized development of the industry and cutting-edge policies on agricultural genetically modified organisms from the perspectives of laws, regulations and relevant policies.

From “good planting” to “good sales”, and from compliant operation to understanding cutting-edge policies, the forum pointed out the direction for the high-quality development of the specialty vegetable industry.

Innovation Achievement Exhibition: Anchoring Direction and Interpreting New Breeding Trends

On the morning of November 26, the 20th Anniversary Innovation Achievement Exhibition of Specialty Vegetables was grandly inaugurated. Industry leaders, representatives from agricultural universities and research institutes, and outstanding dealers of Yafei Seed attended the ceremony.

The event was presided over by Wang Fei, Director of the Cash Crops Research Institute at Hubei Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Zhang Shuangping, Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone and Deputy District Mayor of Hannan District People’s Government; Jiang Xiexin, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of China Seed Association; and Chen Mingquan, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of Wuhan Rural Development Association, attended and delivered speeches.

In the expert report session, Sun Deling, Researcher at the Vegetable Research Institute of Tianjin Academy of Agricultural Sciences, delivered a report themed “Research and Progress of Cauliflower Breeding”. He systematically analyzed the technological trends of cauliflower breeding and pointed out that future cauliflower varieties will develop toward high quality, wide adaptability, simplified cultivation, functionality, and diverse types and colors. Yafei Broccolini also follows this market trend, featuring edible florets and stalks, good taste and great market potential.

         Li Zhansheng, Scientist of the National Industrial Technology System for Bulk Vegetables and Researcher at the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, shared views on “High-Quality Development Pattern of Broccoli in China”. He noted that the global vegetable industry is moving toward green, brand-oriented, technology-driven and quality-integrated development, and functional products such as Yafei Broccolini and Wanlianqing Lacinato kale have become highlights of industrial innovation.

At the end of the event, He Yafei, General Manager of Yafei Seed, reviewed the company’s 20-year development in a keynote speech. He stated that the company will continue to focus on the R&D and innovation of specialty vegetable varieties, repay customers with superior varieties, create new advantages and unleash new potential, and jointly embark on a new journey of the seed industry with partners in the new era.

After the indoor event, experts and dealer representatives visited Yafei Agricultural Science and Technology Park for on-site field observation of new specialty vegetable varieties. Superior new varieties of Yafei Seed, including mid-early maturing disease-resistant, heat-tolerant and high-yield broccoli, self-covering mid-mature loose cauliflower, Yafei Broccolini No.1 and sweet-stem broccolini, were highly praised by experts and customers on site.

A “Golden Egg Smash” promotion for seed industry partners was held simultaneously, upgrading dealers to partners of new and superior varieties and jointly building a new pattern of integrated development of technology, innovation, quality and branding. With a 100% winning rate, the event attracted many dealers and created a lively atmosphere.

On the evening of November 25, the Achievement Appreciation Banquet of the 20th Anniversary Innovation Achievement Exhibition was grandly held. Industry experts, university representatives, partners and staff gathered together.
