On the afternoon of April 13, Secretary Liu Ruiming and his entourage from the Human Resources Development Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, accompanied by leaders including Zheng Jie, Dean of the Education and Training College of Huazhong Agricultural University, conducted research at the Yafei Agricultural Science and Technology Park of Wuhan Yafei Seed Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as 'Yafei Seed'), and held a forum on 'Promoting Measures for Talents to Go to the Countryside' with student representatives of the 'Leading Goose' training program of Huazhong Agricultural University, including He Yafei, Huang Lijun and Zheng Wei.

Upon entering the park, Secretary Liu exclaimed: 'Yafei Agricultural Science and Technology Park is built like a garden, orchard and vegetable garden!' Mr. He Yafei warmly received Secretary Liu, accompanied him to visit the overall layout of the park, observed the field growth of Yafei Seed’s 'Specialized, Sophisticated, Distinctive and Innovative' series products, and watched the on-site field operations of farm workers.

When Secretary Liu saw many young employees who looked like students carefully pollinating in the greenhouses, he asked Mr. He Yafei curiously: 'They should still be studying! Are these students interns at Yafei?' 'Yes, they are interns from Huazhong Agricultural University, Henan Agricultural University and Hunan Agricultural University. Our company has established extensive scientific research cooperation and exchanges with these universities. We guide students to learn, understand, love and serve agriculture. Responding to the call of President Xi, we encourage students to write their papers on the earth!' Secretary Liu spoke highly of Yafei Seed’s school-enterprise cooperation, extended regards to the college students present, and put forward relevant suggestions on student internship and training.

After moving to the conference room, Secretary Liu had extensive exchanges and discussions with everyone on promoting policies and measures for talents to go to the countryside. As the monitor of the 'Leading Goose' training program, Mr. He Yafei first welcomed Secretary Liu Ruiming and his entourage for visiting and guiding Yafei Agricultural Science and Technology Park, and expressed gratitude for the policies and measures to promote talents to go to the countryside.

During the talks, regarding his personal experience of developing in his hometown and the problems encountered in the early stage of entrepreneurship, Mr. He Yafei suggested that the government should provide support and assistance to enterprises in terms of improving land use policies, financing services, talent introduction and services.

Second, regarding the supporting measures and preferential policies of the local government to guide various talents to return to their hometowns, Mr. He Yafei pointed out in his report that measures such as launching the Talent Support Program for Leading Enterprises in Agricultural Industrialization, launching the 'Hubei Provincial Leading Talent Cultivation Project for Agricultural Industry', holding the Hubei Rural Practical Talent Entrepreneurship and Innovation Project Competition, and organizing the 'Leading Goose' Training Program for Leading Talents in Rural Industrial Revitalization in Hubei Province have achieved good results. Yafei Seed has been actively participating in these initiatives and taken the lead in organizing visits and exchanges with peer benchmarking enterprises, striving to contribute to industrial integration and industry development.

In addition, Mr. He Yafei also put forward practical suggestions on entrepreneurship policies, social security, humanistic environment, as well as the creation of new systems for the elderly returning to their hometowns and the integration of 'new villagers'. He suggested that the local government should act as a bridge and provide services to guide capable people to return to their hometowns, offer more personnel, financial and policy support to entrepreneurs, help them better integrate into local development according to actual conditions, and enhance their enthusiasm for engaging in agriculture. Full policy support should be given to special key problems encountered in the development of entrepreneurs; a direct access and subsidy mechanism should be established for talent introduction; and certain project support should be provided for corporate brand building and promotion. Regarding talent training, Mr. He Yafei suggested that college students majoring in agriculture and forestry should be guaranteed with staffing upon enrollment and job opportunities upon graduation. Support should be given to the joint development of agriculture and forestry majors and universities, promote the training of talents in shortage majors in agriculture and forestry, guide students to learn, understand, love and serve agriculture, and write their papers on the earth.

Finally, regarding the most effective policies to attract returning entrepreneurs, Mr. He Yafei suggested that the government should build a good platform, create a favorable environment, strengthen guarantees and provide subsidies. Returning entrepreneurship enterprises should be listed as priority applicants for projects, and returning entrepreneurs and enterprises with good development prospects and high credibility should be preferentially recommended for selection as municipal, provincial and national leading agricultural enterprises.

After listening to Mr. He Yafei’s report, Secretary Liu first highly praised Yafei Seed for its professionalism and excellence in broccoli, broccolini and Lacinato kale, and fully affirmed the company’s efforts in promoting talents to go to the countryside, creating jobs for college students and local residents, and helping people get rich.

At the end of the research, Secretary Liu further pointed out:First, he saw noble spirit, integrity and affection for agriculture, rural areas and farmers in Yafei Seed.

Agriculture has great potential and promising future, which is inspiring!Second, basic research in universities focuses on theory, while enterprise basic research focuses on application. Universities and enterprises should be organically integrated to realize the transformation of applied research results for market launch.Third, seed enterprises should have a strong sense of social responsibility. Just as Huawei has become the backbone of national enterprises, seed enterprises should also compete with foreign seed companies. A strong country requires a strong agriculture, and strong agriculture requires a revitalized seed industry!Fourth, Secretary Liu told the students present that agriculture is no longer a low-end industry. Enterprise management and economic benefits in agriculture should align with industry, move towards high-end development, and compete with international seed industry!
