On the morning of April 18, Professor Zeng Changli, Dean of the School of Life Sciences, Jianghan University, led a group of leaders and key teachers to visit Yafei Agricultural Science and Technology Park for an exchange tour. The delegation aimed to learn about Yafei Seed’s development plan and explore new models of university-enterprise cooperation and collaborative talent cultivation.

Mr. He Yafei, General Manager of Yafei Seed, warmly welcomed the delegation led by Dean Zeng and personally accompanied the visit. Beside the vegetable display shelves, Mr. He gave a detailed introduction to Yafei Seed’s characteristic vegetable varieties. Dean Zeng spoke highly of varieties such as green Chinese onion developed by Yafei Seed. New plant variety rights certificates were neatly arranged on the exhibition table. Mr. He introduced characteristic vegetables including Lacinato kale and Broccolini as well as the company’s scientific research achievements in recent years. These vegetables have not only enriched market supply but also provided consumers with more diversified choices.

Subsequently, Mr. He accompanied Dean Zeng and his entourage to visit key scientific research facilities including vegetable greenhouses, laboratories, and experimental fields. Dean Zeng highly recognized Yafei Seed’s investment in scientific research and its achievements, noting that they are of great significance to enhancing the independent innovation capacity of China’s vegetable seed industry.

After the visit, the two sides held a discussion in the conference room. Mr. He first explained the company’s basic situation in university-enterprise cooperation and gave a detailed introduction to its current development. He stated that Yafei Seed has long been committed to R&D and innovation in the vegetable seed industry and hopes to jointly promote the vigorous development of China’s vegetable seed industry through cooperation with Jianghan University.Dean Zeng then expressed his high recognition of Yafei Seed’s current achievements. He praised the company for its remarkable results in responding to national policies and tackling key “bottleneck” problems in domestic vegetable seeds. He hoped that this exchange would further explore cooperation possibilities with Yafei Seed, including jointly breeding new varieties and developing innovative applications such as “Lacinato kale  Beer”.
