On November 10, the 2024 Hubei Provincial High-Quality Vegetables On-Site Observation and Exchange Conference was held in Hannan Seed Town, Wuhan.Yang Yuanyuan, Vice President of Hubei Academy of Agricultural Sciences; Li Jusen, Deputy Director of the Science, Technology and Education Department of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs; Hu Zhengmei, Deputy Director of the Provincial Vegetable Office; Li Zhansheng, Researcher of the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences; and expert group members of the Provincial High-Quality Vegetable Industry Technology System Innovation Team jointly participated in this meaningful event.

 The first stop of the event was Wuhan Yafei Seed Co., Ltd. (Yafei Seed). Leaders and experts visited the Key Technology Research and Demonstration Base for High-Quality Broccoli of Yafei Seed. Mr. He first invited everyone to visit the characteristic vegetable exhibition stand of Yafei Seed, displaying Lacinato kale, broccoli, Broccolini and other specialty vegetables carefully cultivated by the company. He then introduced the company’s achievements in the broccoli sector, elaborating on variety breeding, cultivation technology innovation, pest control, and post-harvest handling techniques.

For 18 years, Yafei Seed has been deeply engaged in the research and promotion of high-quality broccoli, making due contributions to the development of the broccoli industry in Hubei Province.During the observation, Mr. He led the delegation to visit key scientific research facilities including the Yafei R&D Laboratory, Seed Production and Processing Workshop, and Artificial Climate Greenhouse, with a focus on the broccoli trial planting demonstration base.

While tasting seasonal fruits and vegetables in the park, the visitors marveled at the richness of Yafei Seed’s broccoli germplasm resources and varieties.
