On the morning of July 1, a research group from the Human Resources Development Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, accompanied by relevant leaders from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Hubei Province, visited the Agricultural Science and Technology Park of Wuhan Yafei Seed Co., Ltd. (Yafei Seed) for in-depth investigation and exchange.

The research aimed to fully understand the development of agricultural and rural talent teams in Hubei Province during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, and to provide suggestions for the development goals, key tasks, approaches, and projects of agricultural and rural talent teams in the 15th Five-Year Plan period. The research group was led by Mo Guanggang, Deputy Director of the Human Resources Development Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Association of Agricultural Science Societies, with Niu Jing, Deputy Director of the Vocational Skills Division, and Wang Hongwei, Principal Staff Member of the Vocational Skills Division. Ke Fengying, Director and First-Class Researcher of the Science, Technology and Talent Division of the Hubei Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Zhang Aihua, Deputy Director of the division, also participated in the research.

As a high-end professional vegetable seed enterprise focusing on the integration of breeding, reproduction and promotion of cruciferous vegetables, Yafei Seed is also an agricultural technology innovation enterprise gathering numerous agricultural scientific and technological elites in the park. Mr. He Yafei, General Manager of Yafei Seed, a Senior Agronomist, an agricultural science and technology innovation talent of the first batch of 'Chutian Talents Program' Rural Revitalization Talent Project, and a trainee of the 'Leading Goose' program of Huazhong Agricultural University, warmly welcomed the research group.

Mr. He Yafei reported the company’s development to the research group and shared his gains from participating in the training program for leading talents of Hubei agricultural industry and the 'Leading Goose' program. He noted that these trainings helped the company broaden strategic vision, clarify industrial orientation, update marketing concepts, expand market channels, strengthen awareness of industry-university-research cooperation, and enhance industrial influence. In recent years, the company has achieved remarkable progress in R&D of characteristic vegetable products, upstream and downstream industrial chain construction, and industry-education integrated scientific research and innovation. In addition, Mr. He introduced the company’s experience in talent development, retention and utilization, emphasizing that the company would improve staff quality and drive corporate development through regular training and internal and external exchanges.

The research group visited the laboratory, seed reproduction area, seed processing workshop and artificial climate greenhouse of the science and technology park. The group praised Yafei Seed’s strict standards in breeding, seed reproduction and seed quality control, and spoke highly of the company’s investment and efforts in agricultural scientific and technological R&D.

In the future, Yafei Seed will continue to uphold the development philosophy of 'technology innovation and talent-oriented', continuously strengthen talent team construction and improve scientific research and innovation capacity. This investigation and exchange has not only deepened the understanding of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Human Resources Development Center on the construction of agricultural and rural talent teams in Hubei, but also provided valuable suggestions for Yafei Seed, pointing out the direction for the company’s future development.
