Horticulture Students from Jianghan University Conduct Research Internship at Yafei Agricultural Science and Technology Park

On the afternoon of January 15, sophomore students majoring in Horticulture from Jianghan University, accompanied by two instructors, visited Yafei Agricultural Science and Technology Park located in Hannan Seed Town for an enterprise research internship. They moved the horticulture classroom to the fields, launching a unique on-site teaching session.

The teachers and students visited the Molecular Breeding Laboratory, trial demonstration base, protected cultivation nursery sheds, and fresh produce processing workshop in the park. Park technicians explained practical key points such as breeding of high-quality fruit and vegetable varieties and green prevention and control of plant diseases and insect pests based on crop growth cycles. They also provided on-site training on the grape intercropping system and the operation of modern agricultural facilities including intelligent irrigation and integrated water and fertilizer management.

During the internship, the students applied theoretical knowledge from class, actively asked technicians questions, and held heated discussions on high-yield cultivation and variety improvement of horticultural crops.“This on-site research has taken us beyond textbooks and made us truly understand the practical value of the horticulture major,” said one student. Witnessing how technology empowers agricultural production has deepened their grasp of professional knowledge and inspired their enthusiasm for engaging in modern agriculture.

Grassroots Agricultural Technicians from Fang County, Shiyan Receive On-Site Training at Yafei Agricultural Science and Technology Park

On the afternoon of January 15, the grassroots agricultural technology training program for Shiyan, organized by Huazhong Agricultural University, came to Yafei Agricultural Science and Technology Park for on-site teaching. Grassroots agricultural technicians from Shiyan gathered at the park to learn advanced seed industry technologies and modern agricultural management practices at close range. 

During the event, technical experts from the park delivered practical lectures focusing on breeding of high-quality crop varieties, standardized planting management, and green prevention and control of plant diseases and insect pests, combined with demonstration plots in the park. The technicians went deep into the fields, carefully observed crop growth, and had in-depth exchanges with experts on difficult problems encountered during planting, creating a strong learning atmosphere.

This on-site teaching, which brought the classroom to the fields, not only built a learning and exchange platform for grassroots agricultural technicians in Shiyan, but also promoted the precise connection between university scientific research achievements and grassroots agricultural production.In the future, Yafei Seed will continue to play a leading role in agricultural science and technology demonstration, deepen industry-university-research cooperation with universities, and inject more vitality into upgrading grassroots agricultural technology and empowering rural revitalization.
